About the F-117 Nighthawk

Developed by Lockheed Martin's Skunk Works division and introduced in the 1980s, the F-117 Nighthawk was the first aircraft designed entirely around stealth technology. Its radical faceted airframe — built to scatter radar signals — allowed it to penetrate heavily defended airspace undetected. Powered by twin General Electric engines, it reached speeds over 600 mph and delivered precision-guided munitions with surgical accuracy.
